Shopping list
Sorter's shopping list supports two types: "New Items" and "Item Supply," helping you plan your purchases effectively.
Design Intent
During the design of Sorter, we noticed that people typically categorize their purchases into two situations: Add New Item and Restock. Some may wonder if adding a "Shopping List" in Sorter is redundant.
However, it's not redundant. The above two situations only apply to items that have already been purchased. In reality, our minds often go through a phase of creating a "shopping list" before making any purchases. It's only with a plan that we know what we intend to buy. Therefore, the real starting point is actually this shopping plan.
Sorter's Shopping List transforms what was previously intangible in our minds into something tangible on paper. This approach effectively reduces impulse buying and prevents oversights caused by relying on memory. We recommend that all items begin with this list and then proceed to actual purchases using the Shopping List feature.
User Experience
For both scenarios of Add New Item and Restock, the "Shopping List" corresponds to two types:
It may seem complex at first glance, but in the process of adding items to the "Shopping List," you don't need to worry about which approach to use. As you use the Shopping List feature in Sorter, Sorter will prompt you at the appropriate times, guiding you naturally towards the right path.
Once you effectively utilize the Shopping List feature in Sorter, you'll find that your purchasing plans become more rational. Besides preventing forgetting items you intended to buy, you'll also better control impulsive buying temptations and reduce instances of buyer's remorse.
