Combination
Design Intent
Shopping list and Add New Item features address the need for quick item entry, while the "Combination" feature is an attempt to maximize the utility of items. The items we purchase are used to solve real-world problems, and in the real world, problems are often solved by a combination of items. For example, what to eat for dinner? How to make stir-fried pork with peppers? What to eat when you have a cold? This is the rationale behind the "Combination" feature.
By creating multiple combinations for common problems that require a set of items, we can quickly find solutions to those problems when they arise. Each combination displays the inventory status of the items, helping us decide whether to replenish them or consume them directly during use. This approach prevents item omissions and leads to optimal solutions.
While some users employ the "Combination" feature for categorization purposes, it's not the intended design, leading to potential inconveniences. For effective categorization, we recommend utilizing the Multi-level Tags functionality.
The "Combination" feature is still under development, and the team is seeking user feedback to enhance its usability and effectiveness.
