Collaborative Space
Design Intent
One of the most highly requested features since Sorter's launch has been the ability to share user-added items with others and enable collaborative management. After receiving this feedback, we invested significant time and effort in exploring the possibility of implementing such a feature without any major backend modifications. Fortunately, Apple's native data services proved to support this development. Following a period of dedicated development, we are excited to introduce our user sharing feature: Collaborative Spaces. With this feature, you can easily share your spaces with your colleagues, allowing everyone to contribute to managing the items within the shared space.
Feature Experience
Upon launching Sorter for the first time, a default space will be automatically created for each user. To add more collaborative spaces, users will need to subscribe to our Plus Membership.
Data within each collaborative space is isolated, ensuring that users shared into different spaces only have access to the data within their respective spaces.
The creator of a collaborative space automatically becomes the data owner and editor permission manager for that space. Any data created or edited by participants is based on the creator's data. Therefore, if a participant subsequently leaves the space, all data previously created in that space is retained in the creator's space and is inaccessible to the participant.
The creator of a collaborative space can control whether or not the space is editable. If the editing permission of a specified participant is removed, that participant will only be able to view the data within the space and will not be able to add, consume, or make any other edits.
Collaborative spaces other than the default space can be deleted. Deleting a collaborative space also means that all internal data will be deleted and cannot be recovered. Please proceed with caution.
